Beyoncé Giselle Knowles (born September 4, 1981), commonly known as Beyoncé (pronounced /biːˈɑn.seɪ/), is an American R&B singer-songwriter, record producer, and actress. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, she enrolled in various performing arts schools, and was first exposed to singing and dancing competitions as a child. Knowles rose to fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of the R&B girl group Destiny's Child, the best-selling girl group of all time. |

Jamelia Niela Davis (born on 11 January 1981), known simply as Jamelia, is a Mercury Music Prize nominated English R&B singer-songwriter and occasional rapper who found fame in early 2000 after impressing music executives at Parlophone Records with self-written a cappella songs. She has released three studio albums, each of which has reached the Top 40 in her native UK, which collectively have spawned eight UK top ten singles. In addition, Jamelia has won four MOBO Awards, a Q award and has received six BRIT Award nominations.
