Hell, according to many religious beliefs, is a location in the afterlife, which may or may not be described as a place of suffering. Hell is usually depicted as underground. Within Christianity and Islam, Hell is traditionally depicted as fiery and painful, inflicting guilt and suffering. Some other traditions, however, portray Hell as cold and gloomy. Existence after life is not concrete in Judaism and may be portrayed as a state of neutrality, an eternal nothingness ("sheol", often translated as Hell), simply non-life. |
