Richard Allen Davis (born June 2, 1954) is a convicted rapist and murderer, whose criminal record fueled support for passage of California's "Three strikes law" for repeat offenders. He is currently on death row in San Quentin State Prison, California. He was convicted in 1996 of first-degree murder and four special circumstances (robbery, burglary, kidnapping and a lewd act on a child) of 12-year-old Polly Klaas. Klaas was abducted October 1, 1993, from her Petaluma, California, home. |

Robert Lee Willie (died December 28, 1984) was a convict on Death Row at Louisiana State Penitentiary. He was reached out to by Sister Helen Prejean, one of the sisters of St Joseph of Medailles, who based her book Dead Man Walking on him. He also provided the inspiration for the Sean Penn character, Matthew Poncelet, in the film Dead Man Walking. He was executed in the electric chair for the May 28, 1980 kidnap, rape, and murder of 18 year old Faith Hathaway in Mandeville, Louisiana.
