Russia ( /ˈrʌʃə/; Russian: Россия, Rossiya, [rɐˈsʲijə]), officially known as both Russia and the Russian Federation (Russian: Российская Федерация, Rossiyskaya Federatsiya, [rɐˈsʲijskəjə fʲɪdʲɪˈratsəjə]), is a state in northern Eurasia.
